| Q1: How do I go about applying to UHCL? |
| A: UHCL application can be done online. The application itself can be submitted online, but the documents need to be send in by post. Please make sure to send in the application packet well before deadline. Also make sure you apply for scholarships at the same time. All documents required are listed here, You can check your admission status online at the same page. |

| Q2: When do I need to apply? |
| A: It is very good to apply as soon as possible. You have to submit the application before the fixed deadlines. |

| Q3: What is the application fee? |
| A: A non-refundable $75 is charged as the application fee. |

| Q4: What are the chances of getting an admit? |
| A: Chances of getting an admit depends on your application packet. Your GRE scores, your essay, and your academics all contribute to whether you will get into UHCL. |

| Q5: Do I need to submit two applications, one to the department and one to school? |
| A: Many schools ask you to submit one application to the department and one to the school. But in UHCL you need to submit only one application packet. Refer to the admissions page in the university website. |

| Q6: In whose name should I draw the DD in favor of? |
| A: The DD for the application fee should be drawn in favor of "University of Houston - Clear Lake". |

| Q7: When will I get to know about my admission status? |
| A: Admission status can be checked online by logging into the EASE system with your student ID. You can also contact the international advisors for this. The contact information is: Intladmissions@uhcl.edu or uhcl_applicants@uhcl.edu . Phone number: 281-283-2500 |

| Q8: When will I get my I-20? |
| A: The admission procedures of different departments within UHCL vary, and hence the admission decision can be taken any time between January and July for the Fall (August) semester. Your I-20 can reach you as late as July. For the Spring semester it is between October - December. |

| Q9: What do I do if I haven't received my I-20? |
| A: If UHCL informs you that you have secured an admission, but have not received your I-20 yet, please email an International advisor. Please also email an ISA council member (www.isauhcl.org) with your student id and other details. |

| Q10: I think I missed my I-20/there is a mistake in my I-20. How can I request for another copy? |
| A: Write to the International advisor and explain your circumstances. Don’t forget to write to your ISA council members and get their help. |

| Q11: Is there any special application for scholarship? |
| A: Yes, you can submit scholarship application along with your application packet. If you don't submit an application for scholarship, you will not be considered for New Students Scholarship. |

| Q12: I haven't heard from UHCL about my application status? How do I get to know about it? |
| A: Admission status can be checked online by logging into the EASE system with your student ID. You can also contact the international advisors for this. The contact information is: uhcl_applicants@uhcl.edu. From the experiences of the previous students I-20's from UHCL reach very late when compared to other universities. |
